Here are the late DraftKings DFS NBA Picks for March 19, 2017. These are the games that are starting at 6:00 p.m. This post will not have information on two players – LeBron James & Kawhi Leonard. We know their stats, both are great plays & if you need a break down for those two, you may not need to play DraftKings.
With that PSA – here we go!
Damian Lillard – $8,700
Today, this is one of the best plays at the point guard position in our opinion due to what is on the line for the Blazers & the Miami Heat alike. Both teams are competing to try to get a playoff spot & at this time of year, every game means much more to those teams going for the 8th seed. That type of desperation makes for great DraftKings points potential, & Dame Dollar can definitely make that happen. In his last 4 games, Lillard has a ceiling of 51 & floor of 37, and in 3 of those 4 games, he is shooting over 50% from the field, meaning he is being very efficient with his time on the court in terms of points per minute. Miami gives up only 44 DraftKings points per game to the PG position, but the Lillard/McCollum combination might be breaking that defensive trend today.
Goran Dragic – $7,600
While Miami has played well against point guards recently, the Blazers are giving up 51 DraftKings points per game, among the top 10 in worst average – which will be music to Dragic’s years. For the same reasons that we mentioned Lillard would be a great play, the same rules & pressure applies to Dragic. 3 of his last 4 games he has over 45 DraftKings points & the eye injury he suffered last week hasn’t held him back one bit. Dragic is also giving big point potentials in assists & rebounds. He has 10 assists in 2 of his last 4 games & he doesnt have a game with more than 4 turnovers in his last 10 games.
DeMar Derozan – $7,700
At the shooting guard position, Derozan is a solid pick today. He has not been scoring on the court as he normally does lately, but he is getting good points, but also bringing in great rebound & assists totals, boosting DraftKings value. With Kyle Lowry still dealing with the wrist injury, Derozan’s usage in the point & shooting guard positions will go up. While the Pacers do give up only 38 DraftKings points per game to point guards, Derozan’s usage & overall need on the court should overtake the Pacers’ defense.
Buddy Hield – $4,500
Hield is not going to put up massive numbers but for a Kings team looking for an identity, Buddy has been given minutes & a chance to shine. He has two 30 DraftKings point games in the last four games & is getting big minutes for Sacramento. While San Antonio is outstanding, they are giving up 48.6 DraftKings points per game over the last 5 games to shooting guards.
Andrew Wiggins – $6,700
Wiggins should have a DraftKings field day against one of the worst defenses at the small forward position in the Pelicans. New Orleans gives up low point totals against small forwards, but that was while Boogie Cousins & Anthony Davis are in the game. Now that New Orleans is starting to play them more separate and Davis & Cousins cant help a lot because of the focus on Karl-Anthony Towns, Wiggins should have a favorable defensive matchup against Solomon Hill.
Karl-Anthony Towns – $10,300, Hassan Whiteside – $8,500
Both of these guys are playing as good as any big men in the NBA on DraftKings right now (possibly other than only Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz). For Towns, even though he is going against Davis & Cousins, Cousins has a rib injury but is expected to start & New Orleans doesn’t play well with Davis & Boogie together at one time. Towns is statistically the best big man in the game right now for DraftKings DFS NBA players. He has double-doubles in 9 of his last 10 games & the one game he didn’t have one, he still had 9 rebounds. He doesn’t have a game in the last 10 with more than 4 turnovers & gets big minutes due to not being in foul trouble. Also shoots over 60% from the field. The Pelicans are giving up 45 DraftKings points per game to power forwards in the last 5 games.
For Whiteside, his dominance is, of course, on the defensive side for the Miami Heat. He has double-doubles in his last 10 consecutive games & where he may be a bit more worth the lower price than KAT is that he gives 2.1 blocks per game, an extra chance for DraftKings points. In his one meeting against Portland (yes, they didnt have Nurkic at the time), he had 60 DraftKings points. Don’t expect that to be much different this time around. The Blazers are giving up 51 DraftKings points per game to power forwards in the last 5 games.
The Blazers & Pelicans are both giving up big points to the power forward & center positions lately, & these two guys can make it a rough night for those frontcourts. Use both with confidence.
Other top plays – Jonas Valanciunas – $4,900, Tristan Thompson – $4,900
